What’s Involved In a Pitch Fibre Pipe Repair Job
From the 1950s to 1970s pitch fiber piping was a cheaper more effective way to construct pipes. It was a lot cheaper than clay which is why it was the first choice for residential and commercial properties built in the 1950s to 1970s. Although new drainage systems are made using plastic pipes there are still many properties that use pitch fiber piping.
Pitch fiber pipes were easy to make and even easier to install which made it the first choice for most people. This meant most properties in that time had pitch fiber piping installed. Unfortunately, just like any other type of pipe, a pitch fiber one is subject to wear and tear over time.
As time goes on and the pipe gets more worn, you’ll need to have an emergency commercial plumber come in and inspect the piping on your property. Finding a commercial plumbing repair company is as simple as an internet search for commercial plumbing contractors near me.**
What Should I Do If I Have Pitch Fiber Pipes Under My Home?
If you have pitch fiber pipes under your home and they aren’t leaking, then there is nothing to worry about. If there is a leak, then you should get a professional to come in and check your piping.
A CCTV drain survey conducted by a drain professional is how you’ll determine the type of piping under your home. This survey helps to determine whether you have modern plastic pipes or pitch fiber pipes. If you have pipes that are damaged, leaking, or collapsed you may need to have them repaired or replaced.
If you think you have a problem with your piping you should have this problem fixed as soon as possible.
Pitch Fiber Repair
To repair a pitch fiber pipe we either dig up the pipe and replace it with a plastic one or add a liner to the pipe to increase its strength.
A relining process can be done using polyester felt. This will help to seal any holes in the piping. The lining helps to increase the strength of the pipe by reforming and reshaping the pipe. Reinforcement is the best way to repair this type of pipe.
The lining option is the popular choice due to the nature of the repair. You don’t have to dig the pipes up which can be a lot cheaper.
Can I Replace My Pitch Fiber Pipes?
Replacing your pitch fiber piping is also another good option. The only problem is excavating and replacing this type of pipe will cost you lots of money. It not only costs money, but your regular operations will be interrupted.
You should only look to replace your pitch fiber pipes if the damage done to them is too much and they have gone beyond repair. If they are not damaged too badly and can be replaced then it might be your best to just have them repaired by a commercial plumbing repair company. If you need that type of help we can help you. He had all the equipment need for resolving the blockage further up the drain and we feel confident our drain issues are finally resolved! Thanks Jan!
Extremely happy, 5 star service
Firstly if anyone wants a lesson in customer service, use this company and ask for Jan!
From our first interaction he was a pleasure to deal with. He arranged everything at half the price of other companies in the area.
He even sorted out an unrelated issue with a blocked man hole with souther water as we were away at the time! He really could have just said not my problem.
He updated us step by step with pictures of the work at various stages to reassure us. He advised and gave honest advice and feedback throughout!
In summary, if you want to deal with a local company that can offer unbelievable customer service, alongside top quality work call Fedurco Drainage Solutions and ask for Jan! Also to reiterate HALF THE PRICE OF 3 INDEPENDENT COMPANIES!
Thank you Jan and I look forward to using you and recommending you again in the future.
Punctual, clean and tidy work and all done great expertise and a smile.
Great job done and at a good price. Thank you Jan.
Will recommend you and use your company again without hesitation.
When I spoke to Jan, he completely put my mind at rest and told me to leave it to him and he would inspect the drain.
He provided video evidence of the blockage which resulted in his bill being split between the 2 parties.
Jan couldn't have been more helpful and in his words, he "got rid of my headache".
I would happily recommend Jan. Not only was he professional and empathetic, his cost was also very reasonable.

Great chap really nice and gets the job done nice and quickly. We live in an old Victorian house so our drains always have issue. Once you find a good tradesman you don't want to swap and tempt fate!
Good communication, turned up when planned and just got the job done.
Got in touch when they were on the way, arrived in no time. Assessed and talked about our issue in depth and allowed us to understand why the issue happened and how to avoid in the future.
He has all the right equipment on him to deal with the issue and washed it through then gave us a CCTV recording to show it was all done. Cheaper than competitors and a great service, thanks Jan

Updated Aug 2022: recommended to my mother with blocked drain issue. All sorted and good work done. But £1854 for 3-4 hours work and parts. I understand not an easy job digging up concrete replacing/repairing broken drain. But feeling ripped off when £1250 was discussed over a phone call to me (which is still a lot! But felt willing to pay for having it sorted immediately, without hassle of getting other quotes).
